Terms of Use

These terms apply to d2build.org. By signing the open letter, creating an account, or publishing in the gallery, you agree to them. They are short. Please read them.
What d2build is
d2build is an independent, non-commercial fan initiative run by one person from Italy. It has two parts: an open letter asking Bungie to let Destiny 2 players create custom activities, and a gallery where players publish activity concepts for everyone to see.
Not affiliated with Bungie
d2build is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Bungie, Inc. or Sony Interactive Entertainment. Destiny, Destiny 2, Bungie, and related names, logos, and artwork are trademarks of Bungie, Inc. We use them only to refer to the game and the studio. Nothing on this site is an official statement by Bungie.
Your account
- You sign in with a magic link sent to your email. Anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure.
- One account per person.
- Use a real email address that you control.
- Do not impersonate anyone: not Bungie staff, not other players, not public figures.
- You must be 16 or older.
- You are responsible for everything published from your account.
The gallery: your copyright and the CC BY 4.0 license
You keep the copyright to the concepts you write and the images you create.
By publishing a concept on d2build, you release it under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). In plain terms: anyone, including Bungie, may copy, share, adapt, and build on your concept for any purpose, as long as they credit you. This is deliberate. The gallery exists to show Bungie what players want, and that only works if Bungie is free to use what it sees.
Once granted, the license cannot be revoked for copies already made. You can stop distributing the concept yourself by deleting it.
Please read this part carefully:
- Game developers, including Bungie, do not accept unsolicited ideas and usually have policies against reviewing them.
- Publishing on d2build creates no claim, obligation, or expectation of compensation, of credit in any game, or of a response from Bungie or anyone else.
- If a future Destiny feature resembles your concept, you agree that this gives you no claim against Bungie, Sony, or d2build.
Images
You must own, or have permission to use, every image you upload. Do not upload images copied from the web or other people's artwork.
Images you upload are published under CC BY 4.0 along with your concept, so only upload images you are able to license that way. Destiny 2 screenshots remain Bungie's property; if you include one, you are relying on Bungie's own rules for fan content, not on CC BY 4.0.
AI disclosure
If an image or text in your concept was generated or substantially edited with AI tools, you must tick the "created with AI" box when you publish. The site then shows a visible "created with AI" label on that concept. This follows the transparency principles of the EU AI Act. Concepts that hide AI use may be removed.
Moderation
Every concept is reviewed by the site team before it appears in the gallery. We may reject or remove a concept, before or after publication, for any reason. Examples: off-topic content, harassment, copyrighted material you do not have rights to, content that misrepresents Bungie or pretends to be official, spam, or anything that breaks these terms. We try to explain our decisions but we are not obliged to.
Edit history
When you edit a published concept, the previous version is stored. Earlier versions may remain visible on the site so readers can see how an idea evolved. If you need a previous version removed, contact us.
Likes
Likes are a public signal of interest. Do not use multiple accounts, bots, or coordination to inflate them. We may remove likes we consider artificial.
Prohibited conduct
Do not:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, Bungie staff, or anyone else
- Post hate speech, sexual content, or anything illegal in Italy or the EU
- Upload malware, scrape the site, or try to bypass Turnstile, rate limits, or moderation
- Sign the open letter more than once or on someone else's behalf
- Use the site for advertising, commercial promotion, or recruiting
- Claim to represent d2build or Bungie
The site itself
The site's text, design, and code belong to the site owner. The code is not open source for now. The open letter may be quoted and shared freely with a link to d2build.org.
No warranty and limitation of liability
d2build is provided as is, free of charge, by a volunteer. We do not promise that it will always be available or error-free, or that Bungie will read the letter or act on it.
To the extent allowed by law, the site owner is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from content other users publish. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited under Italian or EU law. Your statutory rights as a consumer in the EU are not affected.
Termination
You can leave at any time by asking for account deletion, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms and remove content without notice where needed. The CC BY 4.0 license on concepts you already published survives for copies already made.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. For significant changes we will post a notice on the site. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer living in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own country, and you may bring a dispute before the courts of that country.
