Salt Choir

Titan, New Pacific Arcology (vaulted, returns with the unvaulting) · Fireteam of 3 · About 50 min

Three Hive Wizards are singing the sea up through the Arcology. Climb the Solarium while endless Thrall tides pour into the lower decks, silence the choir one voice at a time, and meet the thing they were singing to.

Mechanics

  • 01Mute plates: each Wizard sings immune from a locked balcony. The plate beneath her mutes her for 15 s and drops her shield, but it pins whoever stands on it, so a teammate has to take the shot.
  • 02The tide: every 100 s an endless Thrall wave floods the lower deck for 20 s. A horn and a HUD countdown give 10 s warning. Being below the mezzanine when it lands is death by numbers.
  • 03The Listener: the Ogre boss is immune unless a Guardian holds the song shard relic within 10 m of it. The holder cannot shoot, and the shard explodes after 15 s unless passed on.

Phases

  1. 1

    Sinking Docks

    Acolyte patrols on the docks. Hold two plates at once for 10 s to open the Solarium door while the first tide teaches the rhythm: horn, count, climb.

  2. 2

    First Voice

    One Wizard on the Solarium balcony. Mute her with the plate and kill her before she survives four tides; if she finishes the fourth verse the room seals and the encounter resets.

  3. 3

    Second and Third Voice

    Two Wizards trade shields, so two plates must be held in turn. The tide now comes every 75 s and Knights guard the plates. Both Wizards must die within 30 s of each other.

  4. 4

    The Listener

    Festering Halls. Ogre boss with the song shard aura. Three damage windows of 15 s each while the shard is passed around; the tide comes every 60 s and covers the whole floor.

Why it works in Destiny

Titan's Arcology interiors are vertical, cramped and already dressed as a Hive nest, which is the ideal shape for a plate-and-timer dungeon. Every beat is an editor primitive: a plate that drops a shield, a repeating Thrall wave on a timer, a relic with an aura and a hold limit. Nothing needs new geometry, so once Titan leaves the vault this could be built, submitted and reviewed quickly.
