Cistern Cup

Nessus, Exodus Black through Glade of Echoes into The Cistern · Fireteam of 6 · About 15 min

A six-Sparrow time trial down Nessus. Hit twelve checkpoint plates in order, keep your Sparrow alive through Vex crossfire without firing back, and reach the Cistern floor before the gate closes behind the leader.

Mechanics

  • 01Checkpoints: twelve plates from Exodus Black to the Cistern floor. A plate counts only if crossed mounted and in order; skipping one returns you to your last valid plate.
  • 02Hazards: Goblins on the Glade ledges and a Hydra over the Cistern drop fire on riders. A destroyed Sparrow means a 10 s respawn at the last plate, and any racer who fires a weapon is disqualified.
  • 03The gate: the Cistern gate closes 4 minutes after the first racer finishes. Anyone still on course is a DNF. Three heats, best two count.

Phases

  1. 1

    Grid

Six Sparrows on the Exodus Black start line. A 5 s countdown, then plate one at the wreck's edge.

  2. 2

    The Glade

Plates two to six through Glade of Echoes. Goblins on the ledges; the fast line runs under their fire, the safe line costs about 4 s.

  3. 3

    The Drop

Plates seven to nine down the cliff into the Cistern. The Hydra covers the open descent, so riders pick a shadow or gamble on speed.

  4. 4

    Cistern Floor

Plates ten to twelve across the radiolaria pools, then the gate. First across starts the 4-minute close.

  5. 5

    Podium

Heat times post to the code's board. Best two of three heats decide the Cup; ties break on total plates crossed.

Why it works in Destiny

Sparrow racing was a real Bungie mode once and the community still runs honor-system races on Nessus, so the audience is proven. Plates as ordered checkpoints, a spawn set for hazards and a finish timer are exactly what the editor offers, and a mounted-only rule is a single objective flag. It is the kind of low-risk, high-charm submission a Community Playlist needs to feel alive.
