Bloomwatch
The Pale Heart, The Blooming · Fireteam of 3 · About 25 min
Three seedlings of the Traveler's light are rooting in The Blooming, and the Dread have come to tear them out. Hold three plates through ten waves of Grim, Husks and Weavers, then survive the Subjugator sent to finish it.
Mechanics
- 01Rooting plates: a seedling grows only while a Guardian stands on its plate and wilts at 2% per second when empty. A seedling that hits zero is torn out; lose two and the strike fails.
- 02Dread pressure: Grim screeches suppress the plate holder, Husks killed without a headshot release a Geist that hunts the nearest plate, and Weavers suspend anyone crossing the open lanes.
- 03Wave ten: a Stasis Subjugator locks one plate under crystal. That seedling stops growing until the crystals shatter, and the boss's shield only drops when all three seedlings bloom at once.
Phases
- 1
Sprout
Waves 1 to 3: Husks and Grim. Learn the wilt rhythm and the headshot rule; a Geist reaching a plate knocks its holder off for 3 s.
- 2
Tangle
Waves 4 to 6: Weavers and Attendants join. Suspends and freezes punish solo lane crossings, so plate swaps are done in pairs with cover.
- 3
Blight
Waves 7 to 9: a Taken blight opens between the plates and doubles the wilt rate for any seedling inside its cloud until the blight is shot out.
- 4
The Subjugator
Wave 10. Break the crystals, grow all three seedlings to full at the same moment to strip the shield for 20 s, and repeat until it falls. It retreats and returns if any seedling dies.
Why it works in Destiny
Onslaught proved Destiny players want wave defense, and the Dread roster is built to punish standing still, which makes plates a genuinely hostile objective. The design is nothing but spawns, timed waves, three plates with a decay value and a boss trigger, which is the Level 2 toolset exactly. Bungie review keeps the wave scaling honest before it reaches the Community Playlist.
